Quick note - pay attention - when I boot regularly, I get a black screen while things are loading up. It's not a hardware issue, as I dual-boot Windows 7 on this computer and the Intel driver works great. I am stuck using the vesa driver, which only allows me 1024x768 - not my native resolution, ugly, and very limited. If I try to force it in nf, x gets mad and tells me there's no screen detected. Hi everyone, I am banging my head against the wall trying to get my intel driver to work. If it does not work for you, I recommend filing a bug report here: It MAY fix the problem with other hardware, but I provide no guarantee. Note that this patch is for an i915 chipset. Great thanks to the team at intel-linux-graphics, specifically Daniel Vetter, for writing a patch to resolve this issue.
